Direct Intercept / Intercept Leg To
For those simmers using Bulfer's FMC Guide as a learning aid, trying to reproduce the DIR TO - INTC LEG TO exercises could bring some trouble.
According to capt. Bulfer's Guide, after selecting an intercept course on the LEGS page, and EXECuting ("making it big"), and rolling out on the intercept heading, engaging LNAV should result in a dotted magenta line from the a/c symbol towards an unseen created waypoint on the the intercept leg (or intercept course).
I tried to follow this technique with the sim, but didn't see any dotted line on the ND; the a/c itself didn't follow the ideal - invisible - dotted heading up to the unseen point, but rather started a curve towards the next waypoint.
Partly operational, partly graphical, this seems to be out from the actual state of the art.Happy landings and always three greens !!
