LED Delay.
Hi all quick question regarding LED,s. Maybe its a dumb question but is there anything on the market that can delay the led from lighting up for say 5-15 secs once powers supplied to them. Im asking this as a bit of a cheat for the landing gear indicators that light red/green when gear is going up or down.
Cheers.

Re: LED Delay.
Hi Rich,
There is a way useing electronics, but output from Fsim can be taken and used to drive your leds when gear is fully extended, in transit and fully retracted.
What i/f are you using, that might give us all an idea of how you could achieve this action.

Re: LED Delay.
Hi les
Thanks for reply
At the moment im using an old joystick card with 2 basic switches onit done though fsuipc. so at the mo i just have the green leds conneted via the gear down switch if you get what i mean. so when lever is down on the gear down switch it also makes connection for all 3 green leds. Maybe some kind of delay switch/relay or somthing i need. I understand that with proper interface cards i can program the leds to come on as appropriate, it was just a temp/cheat until i start the main build oneday.
Cheers

Re: LED Delay.
Hi Rich,
If you are thinking to a hardware solution, you may consider building a little circuit using a NE555 (or SE555) in monostable mode. There a many exemple on the Net ; here is an exemple :

Re: LED Delay.
Hi Rich,
I thought that was your case. My thoughts are the same as Patricks, use a 555 timer. Here are some timer circuits that may help.

Re: LED Delay.
The link below shows a method to drive the green and red gear indicator lights with appropriate delays. It is triggered by the switch of the gear lever.

Re: LED Delay.
I'm a little late but you could use the circuit I made for this GA thread here.
