    MSDXM.OCX error

    Howdy all,

I just got my quad servo controller and am playing with it in Linux, will be using it with the excellent X-Plane flight simulator. But I also have MSFS2004 and a Win98SE install so I thought I might as well give FS2Phidgets a try. The app throws an error though, observe:

FS2PHIDGET caused an invalid page fault in
    module MSDXM.OCX at 016f:1d351b43.

Could it be due to the fact that I'm using Win9x and not XP/2k? It's not a huge deal if I can't get this going (I don't fly MSFS all *that* much ) but it would be nice.

    Thanks,

    -Matt Bailey

    Matt,

    Have not tested with Win98.
Don't know of any sim enthusiest still running Win 98.
Not even sure how backward compatible OCXs are!
    Does Microsoft still support Win98.

    Where do you live ?

Actually if I get an analog input solution working in Linux (either by getting my current USB module working in Linux, or using a Phidget IK with analog sensors), I won't need Windows at all for my primary simming needs. I've had to use WinXP a few times and I can hardly stand it......plus I don't want to shovel more money at MS.

I don't think 98 is still officially supported, not that I ever care about MS support. :P Where do I live? Errr, on my computer, basically. I'm in southwestern Indiana, US (KDCY).

After reading some other posts, it seems FS2Phidget isn't a "plug and play" MSFS interfacing solution anyway, is it? I was thinking it would allow me to map various parameters to different Phidget devices, with some simple scripting. Does it still require Visual Basic? I don't have VB (and would just as soon avoid it). Like I said, it's not a big deal as I rarely fly MSFS, just thought if it could easily be done, I might as well go for it.

    Matt,

    No VB required.
Did you read the FS2Phidget Quick Start Guide ?
