Overhead help
Hi to all,
I need to have some suggestions for display the voltages at electrical panel, numbers at pressurazation panel and numbers of IRS at AFT overhead panel.

Voltage Panel is a hard one.
My solution: the position of the two rotaries drives directly 7seg leds wired individually to show the appropriate figures. Procedural only no room for abnormal. Very convincing look though.
As for pressurization, I asked a few time if some electronic wizard among us could design a simple counter going from 1 to 50 with 3 constant zero showing, driving five 7 seg Leds through an encoder. Must not be very complicated. Does not has to be linked to the sim. Just procedural! To this day no one seems interested!?Jackpilot

as posted on my forum as well:
electrics:
* zoom out PM graphics
* Flightdeck technology boards
* http://home.planet.nl/~pvrijald/flig...acdc_panel.htm (great budget solution ! Thanks Pim !)
Several vendors planning plug and play units.
Pressurisations:
* Flightdecktechnology has the offsets in their software and works.
* I'm sure other display cards like open cockpits and phidgets that can read fsuipc offsets will work too.
IRS:
* Havent looked into it yet. Is it in the offset list of PMsystems (especially now that it is semi functional in pmsystems)
I think the electrics panel is quite essential if you want to train failures. The other two will be mostly eye candy to most, but if you want to follow full procedures (even though its just a sim) they are essential as well.

Pressurization panel
Hi All,
In line with that I did with the AC/DC panel I created a simple solution. It's not the cheapest because of the two Phidget encoders, however it works.
Have fun,

ps you'll find it at: http://home.planet.nl/~pvrijald/flig...tion_panel.htm

Hi Efe
I do not use PMSystem (could elaborate on that later)
So I would like to have a module, made of two encoders, two displays and a magic wire in between, totally independant from the sim and PC, allowing me to display what I dial in.
Purely procedural and self contained.
Idea?Jackpilot

After some digging around I found my Engineers Notebook II from Radio Shack 1982 with many circuit diagrams. Here is a fairly simple circuit for a 3 digit counter. I hope this helps with what you want.
Regards,
Brian

Brian,
I had those! I had all of them and then during one of my moves from state to state, they were lost. Very handy to have those around.God's in command, I'm just the Pilot.

I remember those too. In fact I used to sell them.
I probably have two or three laying around somewhere in the shop.Boeing Skunk Works

Thanks Brian.
I had some of those too but the "low level" ones. I did some delay circuits with that!
Very handy when wiring the overhead because as I do not use PMSystems.
My printer is already buzzing!!!
Grrrrrrreat find....
Cheers
