KMA Audio Panel
I am designing an audio panel for my GA Panel and was curious to know if anybody has some experience with the O M I Marker LEDS and making them flash.
I have a master card and SIOC.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Also
regarding LED selection and wiring, tips?
Thanks
Steve.

Re: KMA Audio Panel
Hi Steve.
I haven't used LED's in my audio panel, but am putting some in this week. I have just bought a red, yellow and green 5mm LED of the boring type (not the ultra bright stuff you find today). Ultrabright LED's will kill the audio panel, and will be too bright, so just use the plain type of LED (the type found on your tv standby...you know).....
I am thinking of using phidgets cards to work them, using a little bit of code!
I only have a total of 4 LED's and wished that there was an interface small enough to power just a small handful of LED's......
Saying that 3mm LEDs would be good, I wouldn't of thought that you would need anything big and bright, just enough to let you know your marker!
What's your thoughts, your guess is as good as mine!
Cheers.

Re: KMA Audio Panel
I have no idea with LEDS, but have bought some standard ones in Blue amber and white to go onto the panel. Farnells also sell some nifty little black bezels which look nice and give that professional finish.
As for making them flash, Im not sure if this is possible. Not even sure if they flash real life on these panels because I have never landed at a field with marker beacons on final?

Re: KMA Audio Panel
I don't think they flash at all from my knowledge, they turn on and off at the relevant stage!

Re: KMA Audio Panel
They do flash in a real audio panel,
Haven't make the sioc code for the leds yet.
I think if it would be build realistic, the .wav file shoud also be played by SIOC, otherwise it is unsyncronised with the leds
If somebody has this further let us know
