Leds are always ON
When I connect a LED on any J2 pin ( 11-48 ) of a MasterCard, it is permanently ON.
With SIOC monitor (last version) I turn the outputs status ON / OFF but the led never turns OFF.
Is this normal?
This is my first attempt with SIOC and OpenCockpits cards and for now I am testing and learning..
Thank you for any help!!

Re: Leds are always ON
No luck
It looks like my master card does not open/closes the positives
I've tested all pins and here are the results:
[+5V],11,12,13,14,15,16,18,20,21 (dim)
17,19,30,31 (off)
22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29 (bright)
32,33,34,35,36,37,38,39,40 (very dim)
41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48 (dim)
same results with "ALL ON" and "ALL OFF"
EXCEPT PIN18! when I press "ALL ON" turns OFF and when I press "ALL OFF" turns ON!
Pressing just its square [18] there is no change

Re: Leds are always ON
Forgive me for asking, but are you certain that the power supply to the mastercard is the correct way round. The positive goes to the pin that is closest to the DB9 connector. If correct, did you build the card yourself?

Re: Leds are always ON
I have a ready-made mastercard that is newest model, and connector J0 is not parallel with P2 (DB9) but vertical
I think positive is closest to J1 connector
Same results as I've described when I use a 4,9V supply and when I use just the USB connection (without ext. power)
The only difference is that with power supply leds are brighter but with the same results as above.
All 71 digital inputs work normally
Analog inputs show: 88, 83, 66, 67
Do they have to show 255?
I use a very old parallel cable from those old parallel devices, to connect the mastercard with USB expansion card.

Re: Leds are always ON
Not certain what you mean by newest mastercard, the following relates to the OC mastercard manuals section where the mastercard manual is dated Nov 2013
The J0 pin closest to P2 (the DB9 connector) is POSITIVE as outlined in the tutorial manual. The J0 pin closest to J1 is actually NEGATIVE!
Are you sure the power supply is correctly wired?
If it is correctly wired then change your parallel cable to a IDC ribbon cable with the DB 25 connectors, the reason being that many older parallel cables did not connect all pins or indeed correctly.
The analogue pins, if not connected to a pot, will float in value and not default to 255
David
edited to change db25 to db9 (typo), it does not change the identification of the positive pin

Re: Leds are always ON
Hi,
To eliminate the cable just plug the two cards together as one is male, the other is female.

Re: Leds are always ON
Thank you guys for your replies,
I've already tried everything you suggest with no luck
All positives are always ON! (except 17,19,30,31 that are always OFF!)
(PIN18: Connecting is ON but when I press "ALL ON" turns OFF! and when I press "ALL OFF" turns ON!)
Normally connecting a LED must be OFF until card sends a signal to its positive to turn ON (am I wrong?)
Do I have to run a specific SIOC script to do a reliable test? (I use SIOC Monitor ver 2.0)
But connecting a LED is immediate ON and this is no good?
