VR headset
What do you guys think of this type of setup? fully immersive i would think if you could get the resolution up. Cockpit buttons might be rough though.

Not much. Why would we be building cockpits?

Buttons shouldn't be a problem.
- Put a camera on the VR helmet.
- Paint the cockpit windows/canape blue.
- Use blue screening techniques to project the sceneries in the windows/canape.
- Display the result in the VR helmet.
This way you can see the real world and virtual world in the helmet

Wow
Strange how great minds think alike
I even went looking for maybe a different headset using LCD,
I got to thinking that with another Mod to your/our
method 3d outside views would be possible by switching the
altered left and right images.
All this could be put together using a wireless surround Headphone,
a combined TrackIR / chroma lock camera and something similar
to Vuzix VR920 but a lot higher resolution. Plus some nifty software
To get a bit more realism some of these KATAKA actuator's could
be added to the seats.

And EZDOC could be added to the software to fake cockpit
movement

Why all of the above.
A cheaper/smaller method of achieving Motion and 3DVision

Sry i thought i looked around for similar posts. But very cool idea of using a virtual image of what you're eyes see to allow full field of view out the windows from pretty much any angle you can position your self. the graphics would have to be tuned nicely so it doesn't make you dizzy.
