    Funding for a Sim

Have any of you thought about taking out a personal loan to get the necessary stuff to build your simulator? i.e. hardware, wood, wires, LEDs, monitors, computers, etc. etc.

No... I would never do that. The sim is a hobby only to me and I buy what I can afford. If I can not afford it, it waits and I save up my hobby money to buy it. Any hobby eats money be it Golf to cars...... Something to remember.

Exactly and by getting loans or borrowing, you just get yourself into debt and problems

True. Very true. you would have any debt. But then you can get all of the stuff you need and take your time putting it togther. Part of being a hobbyist is to make sacrifices for the greater good lol. If you could find a personal loan with a great rate and low monthly payment it'll be all good (providing you have no other debts.)

If Trev came home and said he was getting or got a personal loan to buy things for the Sim, I'd have him committed to the loonie bin

The key here is marrying a woman who makes lots of money.
