Some advise for buying new cnc
Hello,
My name is Rob van der Wiele and want to buy my first cnc portal milling machine. I narrowed the options to 2 machines:
1) Haase CUT 2500M Profi
2) BZT PF 750-P
I don't want to build it myself, that's why I came up with those two. I have seen the BZT in action and the owner is real happy with it, but I also had contact with a owner of a Haase cnc and he is also quit pleased with it.
I want to order one of those machines with a Kress 1050 FME-1, a T-groove plate and a floating Z axis for engraving. The last item has not such a high priority, first I have to learn to master the whole process. So far I've done everything with a very simple router. See my web site: Boeing Cockpit Project. But before I can do anything I need to make a decision on what I should buy, I really don't know it anymore. I hope that somebody on this forum can give me some good advise.

Re: Some advise for buying new cnc
Rob,
after looking at your site, I have to ask why you need a CNC?
What you've already done is fantastic! Did you do the CAD yourself?
I take it you have someone else CNC'ing your panels and you want to do it yourself? I did the same.
I can't give you any advice on the CNC's your are looking at but I can tell you that the most important part of the CNC is the software. I recommend Vectric's Cut3D, and/or VCarve.

Re: Some advise for buying new cnc
Hello Warren,
I want backlight on my panels and it cost too much time to create my panels now. Yes, I did all the cad myself, so that is no problem, I use Autodesk Inventor for the 3D stuff.
All the panels are made by myself except the darker ones on the MIP are from OpenCockpit.
For the software there is so much choice, I'm not sure what I'm going to use.
Rob
