New test versions of FSUIPC and WideClient

Hi folks,

Here are my latest interim test versions of FSUIPC (3.422) and WideClient
(6.412).

The main work in FSUIPC has been in areas concerned with timestamps and
corrections to a number of odd little things which have affected internal DLLs
and GAUges.

In the more recent releases of WideFS, most of my attention has been on
improving the efficiency of WideServer, as well as making to operate with both
TCP/IP and IPX/SPX at the same time. In the last couple of weeks I have
concentrated instead on making WideClient run more smoothly. I think I've
achieved this, now, by dividing up the tasks it does between different threads
in a different way, and re-ordering its priorities. Certainly it seems a lot
smoother here on all four of my Client PCs, and even works well on the PC
which is running 3 copies of the Project Magenta PFD/ND/EICAS program.

Please use them when you can, but don't delete your existing versions just
yet. I'd like to hear of any problems.

Hi Pete,

don't know what you did, but the outcome of the new wideclient.exe seems
(did only a quick 30 mins test with 5 clients) indeed noticeably smoother.

Hi

i tried them with FSBUS and i get strange things

at the start all is going well and smooth but if you do no updates on the
cockpit ( nav / heading /crs )
when you hit a keystroke ( ex: 6 or 7 to change range ) it takes a long
time
before the command is
commited

Keyboards? Folks are still using Keyboards?

Sorry, I need more information please!

*What sort of keyboard are you hitting?
*Where is it in relation to everything else?
*How is it programmed?
*Is it using WideFS? If so how?
*Is is programmed in FSUIPC's Keys page?
*Are you using WideServer 6.41 too?

That's a start. After I can understand even a little of what you are doing
there will be other questions and log files need too, no doubt.

If it is a keyboard on the same PC as the PM component which is supposed to
be processing the keys, then I asume you have checked keyboard focus and so
on?

How does FSBus come into this at all?

Hi Pete,
please can send the WideClient 6412 again.
If I open the Zip-File to copy the WideClient to Explorer I get a ERROR.
I downloaded it more times but it`s every time the same.

What does "i placed it in and FS9 rejected the Mod dll" mean, please? Placed
what in where and what is a "mod dll", and what is the error you get?

Sorry, I really don't understand such over-abbreviated reports. Are you sure
you linked this to the correct thread? I deal with FS modules like FSUIPC,
WideFS, and so on. Are you talking about one of those?
