737 Throttle levers
I have started my home build throttle and have been searching across the net for various parts i can purchase, This is so i can save a little time with the build but mostly because i just dont have access to the certain tools needed to do a high quality job.
I have sourced throttle knobs and handles from a few suppliers but what im really looking for is the actual Throttle levers, They are quite intricate in shape and i would be kidding myself if i thought i could be happy with what i could make with the tools i have.
So do any of you guys know of a supplier or even a freind here who would make them for me?
Thanks Steve

Re: 737 Throttle levers
Have checked out some of the throttle tutorials http://www.mycockpit.org/fileshare/s...?e=31&catid=27.
All you really need is a jigsaw, a file and a drill. Easier then you think.
Another option would be to give the CAD drawings to a fab shop with a CNC machine and they could cut the pieces out for you.Grant D.

Re: 737 Throttle levers
I'm sure some nice person will help you with a supplier....but don't be too hard on yourself.
In the dark early days, i used the cad drawings that float around to cut handles with a jigsaw.... then filed them and sanded/primed again and again and again.
a router is also handy to sink the micro switch for the reverser's too.
you will get them absolutely perfect. might take all weekend though.
then you deserve a nice cold beer.

Re: 737 Throttle levers
Steve, So your building one yourself then!
I wish you the best of luck and i'm happy to provide you with the resources i have. Although this isn't my work i don't take any credit for it. Someother kind person has both this together. Look at the pictures and also the PDF attachment at the bottom for some dimensions. once again i have no claim to their accuracy though.
Enjoy

Re: 737 Throttle levers
Geremy, those pics are of the 767-400 TQ not the 737, and the PDF is for the number 3 lever for the 747-400 TQ, i know i did it just so no one gets confused.
I was bored so gave it a go also, based on bits of measurments floating around on the internet so I CANT BE 100% SURE OF ITS ACCURACY, but somthing to help you along
autocad 2D of one of the levers, and a 3D .IGS file of the same lever, ohh and a picture.
Must i must stress again chaps, it wont be 100% true to the original, its just to give you an idea and somthing to play with

Re: 737 Throttle levers
It certainly is! Plenty of stuff there for you to make a good go of making throttles. Must be a good response because you're builder of the month. Lap it up whilst you can ... 7 days left until your succeeder
Live up to the name ... builder of the month... go ahead get building!

Re: 737 Throttle levers
I could do with just a little bit more help before i dive in.
I want to use slide pots but im a little confused about how to physically connect them to the levers, all i can see from pictures is a little square tab on the pot. Does anyone have a picture or drawing?
