Carb Heat Switch
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of making a carb heat switch for a Cessna 172? Please bear in mind I'm an absolute newbie at constructing such things! Any hints, tips, blueprints, (items for sale!) would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Richard

Excuse my ignorance, but would a 12v motor car switch be suitable for use in a panel? I've seen just the one on e-bay.

Yeah this will work if you want to buy something already made, just thought you wanted to make one?
A switch is a switch, if its on/off then it will work!

Sure, but for £2.50. I could never resist a bargain! Plus, I'm getting lazy in my old age

I plan on using an automotive push/pull switch for my GA carb heat. You can find these push/pull switches at most well-stocked auto parts stores (in US, not sure about elsewhere). I might end up making a custom knob if the stock knob doesn't look good enough.
I'll try to remember to post a pic when I get my switch mounted.

Thanks,
I had the same idea after starting this thread.
I found this one on Ebay UK for £2.50 which should do the job.
It almost identical to the SimKits one. For some unbelievable reason this will only work with the CCU in configuration for the Helicopter set up, not fixed wing!
