737 Throttle DC Motor Arduino Software (ATXDC)
Hi Everyone,
Im trying to gauge whether there is any interest in software that i have developed to drive a 737 TQ built using DC motors. I previously wrote DVATX which worked with servos and Phidgets. I have re-written the program as I now have a TQ using DC motors. I have also changed to using Arduino hardware as it is half the price and i can drive all aspects of the TQ including analog and digital inputs, DC motors and servo for spoiler and trim indicators all on the one card. I am really interested if its worth sharing this software with the community or whether everyone has sorted themselves with alternative solutions. Please reply if this software is of interested to you.
Cheers
Diego
Here is some screengrabs of the development, plus a small video showing its functionality:

That looks fantastic. I would certainly be interested when I get my throttle.

Thanks for your reply, but from the lack of response, i will take it that people have sorted out a solution.

I just ran across this post...it has a lot in common for what I'm planning to do. I would love to leverage off of your work if at all possible!

Re: 737 Throttle DC Motor Arduino Software (ATXDC)
Hi
I am trying to build the same thing for a 767 throttle.
I know Arduino and what it can do. I need basic information such as what motors did you use? Do you have a direct drive (motors to throttle) or do you have a gearbox, if so, where do you get the gears. I can do the electronics and the mechanical assembly, I just don't have any idea where to find this stuff. Would it be possible for you to post or send me a parts list and where I can buy or find this stuff? Thanks

Hi Diego,
This is great stuff!! It will very valuable if you can share the code here so that others builders get ideas how to connect there tq using Arduino boards.
Best regards
Jan Geurtsen.

Re: 737 Throttle DC Motor Arduino Software (ATXDC)
Hello Diego,
I'm too on the brink of building a TQ for my 737.
An I too have the same questions that Tonytor53 has.
It would be great if you can share the information you already have gathered sofar.
My cockpit runs on Sismo cards and motherboards but they have no TQ in the store right know, so the one
that you have build with Arduino cards and DC motors would be a perfect alternative for me.
Kind regards,
Derk(Netherlands)

Re: 737 Throttle DC Motor Arduino Software (ATXDC)
Hi everyone,
OK.. Since there is some interest.. I will share the program and guide to build the arduino hardware soon.
Sergio, my TQ is from revolution simproducts. It uses 12v dc hobby motors which connects via a gear direct to the TQ handles.

Re: 737 Throttle DC Motor Arduino Software (ATXDC)
Hi Diego,
many thanks for your quick reply. I am looking forward to your shares.
Maybe off interest for Sergio.....the guy from this website (http://www.scholdan.dk/mogens/intere...m/throttle.htm)
uses dc-gearmotors from Conrad (Modelcraft Transmission Motor 12V, ordernumbers 227552 - 89 and 227579 - 89 and 221936 - 89. He uses a kind of clutch between the gears and the handles. So far I was not able to figure out what those clutches are.
I myself have ordered a complete TQ also at Revolution Simproducts in august 2013 but I am still waiting for it. In the meanwhile it could be of no harm to look at the integration of the TQ in my cockpit. Sismo cards and IFly.
Kind regards
Derk
