LCD Monitor Response Time
In your opinion, what is the highest LCD monitor response time that you would be happy with when using FS9 or FSX?
The lowest I have found is 2ms in a Samsung 22" monitor.
Thanks,
Richard

That's what mine is on my Samsung 931C. I wouldn't want any higher for FS.

Thanks for the reply BSW. Your note was as I suspected. Lower the better.
On a similar subject, does anyone know if LCD projectors react the same to game graphics and would in turn require a low response time?
I have looked at some projector spec sheets but have not seem the Response Time listed.

Man you guys have some great eyesight. I have never really noticed anything but at night, and that didn't bother me much. Here is a definition from the web in case anyone is curious.
Response Times
In order to achieve the color on a pixel in an LCD panel, a current is applied to the crystals at that pixel to change the state of the crystals. Response times refer to the amount of time it takes for the crystals in the panel to move from an on to off state. A rising response time refers to the amount of time it takes to turn on the crystals and the falling time is the amount of time it takes for the crystals to move from an on to off state. Rising times tend to be very fast on LCDs, but the falling time tends to be much slower. This tends to cause a slight blurring effect on bright moving images on black backgrounds. The lower the response time, the less of a blurring effect there will be on the screen.
I use a DLP projector, and like it just fine. I was after native resolution more than anything, next was brightness in a well lit room. Got them both.Rodney -

My eyes use to blur while pulling 5-6 Gs in real life. Oh, maybe that was just brain fog?

That was the blood draining out of yer brain John! Ha ha. I know you know that, so jokes aside, I do have pretty good eyesight at 45 years old and I can see a blur on the screen as the pixels are trying to light up as the scene shifts from one point to another.
I am blessed with this eyesight and I'll be very sorry when it starts to go downhill. I hope it doesn't. I don't even wear reading glasses yet.

I appreciate the replies but am still looking for a bit more information.
Do LCD monitors and LCD projectors utilize the same technology such that the Response Time is critical to a projector also?
As I noted, I can not find Response Time listed on projector spec sheets.

I don't think they are the same thing. Resonse time on an LCD panel has to draw on the physical crystal. A projector doesn't have that hardware, but some type of screen (cloth, plastic, etc.).

Tim, that is a good question. I am afraid I don't know the answer. have you been to Mike's flight Deck? http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/ Mike has tons of information and links on all aspects of flight simming.
