Search for Throttle Quadrant
Dear All
I am just commenced my home cockpit and want to invest my money in a Motorised Throttle Quadrant for Boeing 737NG. Based on my research I understand there are two big vendors, viz.,
FSC
Cockpit Sonic
Both cost around Euro 2,500 to Euro 2,600
My question is which is a better TQ to purchase, since I am spending big money on this, thought should take others view. I did read a good review of FSC-TQ in this forum. If you think there are suppliers who are reliable, please do let me know
Thanks in advance
Regards

I believe Ian@737ng.co.uk used the Symulatory TQ and Im pretty sure that he paid less than 1500 euros. Go to his website or contact him on this forum as I'm sure he will have some excellent advice on the TQ as he owns one himself.
Good luck.

they are all basically the same. All based on the symulatory throttle.

TQ
captain,g'day.....
stef is quite correct, they are all the same throttle quad. all made by jakub at symulatory. the difference as i understand it is that the Cockpitsonic and FSC units use different electronics and controls. each company uses it's own system to control and actuate the TQ actions.
the construction of the TQ itself irrespective of which product you buy is excellent. mine is 3 years old and is performing like the day it was made. just gets an annual strip, clean and a dose of WD40.
as you cannot buy a motorised product direct from symulatory, the deciding factor must be who's system do you want to use?
or be brave, buy a standard unit and motorise it yourself. phidgets or opencockpits kit will do the job for you.
or, just hang fire and don't make a purchase until you have to. i didn't buy the TQ until i had all the MIP built and running.
look at this again one month before you need it otherwise you will have a $15,000 pile of hardware and not one wire soldered yet.
we all suffer from 'i've got to have one tomorrow', but if you delay until you're ready for it, you will have more time to look at other peoples experiences before making a decision and parting with the cash. if it was 30 bucks, no big deal, but !
good luck with whatever you decide.......

There is also another vendor/solution available, this from www.simparts.de
It is 85% made from metal/aluminium and the only not metal parts are the handles from levers and the trim wheels.
For me it was not easy to assembly the kit version, so i sent it back and came again as a plug & play one.
It is full motorized, even the trim indicators have servos and uses phidgets cards.
You can see some pictures from my site, sorry is not in English yet..... www.737.gr (not enough free time)Eddie Armaos
