    Hello Everyone

    Hello Everyone,
My name is Warren and I have been building my cockpit for about six years..

I've been out of the loop for a couple of years and am getting back into it.

I've built a Piper Cherokee 235 Cockpit with Simkits parts, and some self made ones. It works great, and now I'm getting ready to tackle a Garmin 500 for it.

I spend quite a bit of time away from home, so I work on it as I get spare time.

    Pics of my cockpit

Thanks for the welcome. Here's some pics.

All buttons, knobs, and switches are functioning. The only thing missing is the GPS. I am using a touchscreen display to work it right now, but want to fill the hole with an actual hardware version.

I waited a long time for simkits to develop the Garmin 500... then when I saw the long awaited price.... my wife had to call 911! Then she told me there was no way in h%#$ I was buying it!

Hope the pics turned out alright. the parallax on the monitors isn't as bad as it looks. I use a TrackIR to pan the view.

Very nice Warren. I'm always thrilled to see another GA style pit.

    Comments on my cockpit

    Thanks for the kind words.

It is clean and functional and modeled as close as I could get to the Cherokee 235 I am a part owner of.

With the track IR and the 19 in x 3 monitor spread, this thing is a dream to fly patterns with!

As you can see, it still needs some work. One of these days I'll find some circuit breakers that won't bust the bank to stick into the breaker panel.

These are old pics... I've upgraded to a much better system since I took these, and I'm still running FS9 with Maxed sliders.

But.... My dream is to build some big iron like a 737-400. While I enjoy flying GA, I miss flying the big birds. It's hard to do when you're configured as a light GA plane. I just need to hit on the Powerball and I'm set!

Wow Warren that looks like some fine handywork. If you can build the Cherokee to that standard I don't think you'll have any problem with something like a 737 (Oh, not another one! ). You shouldn't need too big a Powerball to get underway with those skills though.
