Rear Projection
Hello everyone
I am building a 172 sim trainer and I was thinking about using a rear projection for the front display right on the front window, do you think it can work and has anyone try to do this already?

Re: Rear Projection
Yes, will work well for this type of sim. You just need a little extra room for rear projection!

Re: Rear Projection
Since you need some extra space for the throw of the projector anyway, why not just do front projection on a screen that is separate from the cockpit? If you are talking about rear-projecting right onto the windscreen area right in front of the cockpit, I think you will be disappointed with the unrealistic perspective and closeness of the projected image. Plus, front projection tends to provide better brightness (something we are always lacking in flight sims, even the big boys with the multimillion dollar commercial toys).
It's even more important with a two-seater rig like a 172, as getting the image further out in front of you gives a more similar perspective to each occupant.
