Monitor size for 737NG cockpit
I've decided not to proceed with projection for my cockpit, simply because I don't have enough space. I was in the Brugge Air College 737 sim (video) and they use 88cm screens. One for the front, 2 for left/right front (under 45 degrees I presume) and 2 for left/right. Apart from the besels that cross the image, it's impressive and realistic.
But 88cm is not a standard diagonal for monitors; 37" is 81cm and 37" is 91cm. Most 31" monitors are about 88cm wide though (so the horizontal size, not the diagonal). Would this be sufficient to cover a full size 737 cockpit if you take 3 units?

The cockpit is five feet (1.5 meters) wide at the instrument panel so if you use that size monitor you'll be seeing a lot of room out the side windows.

Currently there are no 5 ft wide monitors, the biggest has 56" diagonal afaik. It would cost a fortune anyway. My idea is to have 1 in front and 2 under 45 degrees for left front and left right. Later, 2 other monitors could be added for complete left and right.
