Performance: Windowed vs. Full Screen
Hey all,
Just wondering people's views on whether there is a noticible improvement in performance when using windowed mode, over full screen ?
On my system it's hard to see much of a FPS increase but I seem to get less stuttering and rendering pauses in windowed mode.
What do others find ?David R

Yep, definitely better frames when in windowed mode.
I recall reading a comprehensive technical explanation for this but, not being that much of a tech-head, I don't remember it. Never-the-less it is so on my system. I suspect though that it would be more pronounced on lower end systems (like mine!). The more grunt your system posesses, the less frame hit would be noticed going between windows and full-screen mode (I suspect).

In windowed mode there is less screen to fill so it takes less processing to get it done. Thats the long and short of it.
