LCD vs Projectors
Not sure what to go for. 3 benq W1080ST cost rough the same as 3 47" LCDs. I have found a triple 47" LCD stand for £300 which will make mounting them very easy. A 180 curved projector screen costs £9000.

Re: LCD vs Projectors
Projectors if you have the space. If you read http://b737home.blogspot.com.au/2013...enmontage.html the screen was the cheapest part!
You don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a 'professional' installation!

Re: LCD vs Projectors
Unfortunately I am unable to do any complex DIY myself so would need to hire people to help. The screen from Simparts looks the easiest to put together and most flexible.
How is the pixel resolution compared to LCD as I have never watched a projector before? Would it be fuzzy if you look closely?

Re: LCD vs Projectors
I don't think it will be that difficult to put together a DIY screen; I would gauge it is as difficult as putting together a MIP
I think your money would be more wisely spent on other parts of the build, or a motion-platform then on a curve screen.
I have a benq w1080st at 110" and I do not see any pixels.

Re: LCD vs Projectors
Hi guys,
I'm soon in the same boat..trying to decide between 3 Ben Q 24 inch monitors or projectors. I'm thinking projectors would throw a lot of heat... and the bulbs are expensive and not sure how many hours you can get on a bulb.

Re: LCD vs Projectors
Some time last year, I have bought 3 55" LED screens arranged in a 45 degr. left/right setup with Wideview.
My only regret is that those screens now cost about half of what I paid. Before I had a 1024 x 768 overhead and some screens on the side. No comparison. The screens are so crisp compared to projection I would never go back.Erhard in Thailand

Re: LCD vs Projectors
Erhard, What is the approximate distance from your head to the screens?
Does the flatness of the screens distort the view?
Thanks

Re: LCD vs Projectors
Hi Ned,
my eyes are about 110 cm away from the center screen.
As I am using separate windows for center, left and right screens there is no distortion, compared to displaying one picture over 3 screens. (Left and right are from a computer running wideview). As far as flat versus curved goes I could not say, I have never had any curved layout.Erhard in Thailand

Re: LCD vs Projectors
Thanks, Erhard. One more question. Is there any lag between the front view and the side views being on different computers?
