Cockpit Building, nah......it's all about Airport Building!
I would like to share with you a little craze that's been around for a while and some people are taking it to extremes'.
If you collect model aeroplanes, well infact model airliners, builders are now buying and building airport terminals, runways and jetties, ramps etc etc etc.....
It's a way too geeky for me but the hobby 'Airport Building' is huge.
For those that never got the chance to work in airport, always wanted to design an airport and to be honest run an airport, you can.....just build one....a model airport.
LED lighting is a major factor in airport building, you can light your entire runway and taxiway system, light your terminals, put blinking NAV lights on your aircraft wing tips etc etc etc...the list is endless.....
Just youtube 'Gemini Jets Airports' and you will get hundreds of Airport Builders all doing the same thing...building LED lit airports, you can buy terminals, ramps, aircraft, runways, workers etc, the lit is endless.
Many are grabbing a 8 x 4 sheet of MDF and designing their airport from scratch, having the chance to build your own control tower, or build a replica of your regional airport....
Here's a few vids I have pulled off the shelf......

I used to have a model airfield loaded with airfix military jets, it had buildings, runways, taxi lanes, bunkers, grass, and of course the planes hanging above on cotton lines lol. In fact that was about 8 x 4 plywood and it was hoisted up to the ceiling on a pully when i didn't want to play. I was about 8 years old lol, I know i have pictures of it somewhere and im gonna find them and scan them so i can post them up.

Would be very interesting to see! I cant believe how far people go with this airport building hobby. I know cockpit building is advanced now, but modelling is getting alot more technical especially with LED lighting and special controllers etc!
