Played around with a real Airbus sidestick today!
Had a chance to visit a real A330 cockpit today (Thank you Captain O, and FO Z) on one of AirAsia X newest aircraft - the pictures do not do it justice.
In terms of joystick resistance, my Logitech has got it totally wrong! Back to the drawing board. P
For the experts out there - is there any considerable differences between the A330 and A320 sidestick?

Hi Ben!
Green with envy when i saw this! I too use a Logitech... when you say "wrong" what exactly do you mean? Tension? Resistance?
Cheers

Re: Played around with a real Airbus sidestick today!
Thank you for the document ToTom, very informative. I didn't know there are different force requirements on the sidestick.
Vonduck - are you using the Logitech attack 3? To summarise the springs are too loose and do not represent the sidestick correctly.
On the real Airbus there is resistance and a damping force so the sidestick does not recoil back immediately. Perhaps the gurus on the board can explain it better.Soarbywire - Airbus Flight Simulation and Engineering | Jeehell FMGS - Free professional A320 avionics software for the cockpit enthusiast.

Man! Thats a neat set up he has there... i couldn't even consider going to that length with a side stick... i am waiting on updates to the side stick made by Vier Im Pott and have been in touch with Christian as to the development of their side stick on a commercial base... they had thought of the Logitech stick but as mentioned here, the feel is not realistic so they are going to use another stick with a more realistic feel...
Hopefully soon it will be ready!

Vonduct -- consider the sidestick in by simujabs -- http://www.simujabs.com/ ; I have seen development photos and they look fantastic. Looking forward to the final design piece.
