Issues with Bob Scott patch for PM
Hi,
I am now trying to install the SU3 patch from Bob Scott for the PMDG aircraft found in the PM site. As many know PMDG is a fine aircraft, BUT it conflicts with the PM MCP.
So I am in the 4th step, and when I browse to c:\program files\microsoft games\Flight simulator 9\gauges\ it gives me the following message:
"This program cannot update the installed version of PMDG737.SU3 because of the following reasons:
c:\program files\microsoft games\Flight simulator 9\gauges\xPMDG_737NG_Main.gau unknown version"
Any idea what this could be ?
PS. I use windows 7

Re: Issues with Bob Scott patch for PM
If I remember correctly I uninstalled and reinstalled PMDG 737-700.. then the SU3 patch andvworked, but this time I didn't install any liveries until after I ran the SU3 patch..... also where the readme txt says "5. Go to the panel.cfg file in
\Aircraft\PMDG737-700\panel.PM\ (if it did not already exist from a previous patch installation it will be created for you) and place the letter "x" in front of every occurrence of PMDG_ACS!... and PMDG_737NG_Main!... I only changed the first 2 occurrences, whereas before I changed every occurrence and it kept crashing.
I've no idea if this was the reason it worked but give it a go.
Let me know if this helps
Andi

Re: Issues with Bob Scott patch for PM
Hi Andi,
Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it
Actually during the last days, I have been trying many B737-700 & 800 aircrafts, as a PMDG alternative. In that process I found out that the POLSKY 737, called Open Sky Boeing 737 and is a freeware, is an excelent aircraft, and IMHO is better than PMDG, at least for me.
What I really like about POLSKY is that it is actually an upgraded version of the stock FS B737-400, with new airfile, sounds, visuals, etc, but it is based always on the stock FS aircraft minimizing conflicts, bugs, etc... and the most important in my personal opinion is that it is a light application (no setup needed, just copy/paste a folder to the FS/aircraft directory)...
Eventhough I have paid for both PMDGs (600/700 & 800/900) and FSlabs driver (before I go to Project Magenta), I think I will stay with POLSKY at the end.
Thank you very much for your help and support on this one Andi,
Best regards,
