    Acquiring a fuselage section in the UK

    Hi guys,

    I'd like to eventually develop an operational Cessna cockpit based inside an authentic decommisioned fuselage section, but I have no clue where to find one in the UK. Lots like these regularly pop up on ebay.com, but nothing of the sort seems to come on to the UK equivalent.

    Has anyone from this side of the pond managed to put something like this together, and if so, how did you go about it and where did you get it from? I don't even know where to start!

    May be able to help you,

    however with many light aircraft usually the owner will scrap them, they wont involve a company like ASI but you never know. i know of a piper cherokee just sat on the grass at blackpool and i bet if you offered the owner £10 probably say your welcome to it, might be wise to have a drive up to a couple of local airfields to see whats on offer

    I've just e-mailed them, thanks for that mate . I'll also go and scout a few local airfields when I have the time. Anyone else got any ideas?

    There are a few specialist dealers in scrap GA aircraft around the UK, unfortunately most do not have a presence on the internet. A couple used to advertise in some of the GA magazines, but I haven't seen any ads for a while.

    Fortunately there is one company that does have a web presence - Sky Craft - www.sky-craft.co.uk Might be worth giving them a try. A local Air Cadet squadron purchased a PA38 from them to convert into a flightsim - www.flightsim38.co.uk

    Re ASI - I believe their light aircraft stuff comes via insurance companies, so is generally off limits to the likes of us, but still worth a try. I had dealings with them a few years back, when I bought a cockpit and some other bits from them. They are generally approachable, as long as you're not seen to be a 'tyre-kicker'.
