Another builder...Hello!
Hi,
I aim to build a cockpit, or part of it. How much, we will see....
As for many others, it must be cheap! And for any order from abroad exceeding 30USD or 23Euros, VAT (25%) and custom clearing (10-20 Euros) adds considerable to the cost.
So buying for 100's of Euros are out of the question.
My capital is enthusiasm, some programming skills and basic electronics knowledge [like P=UI]. I do know how to use power tools, but I am not very good at getting precise results.
I have started by making a pedestal frame (from an old drawer), simulating two rows of instruments.
I am going to use small steps, starting with a comm instrument. At present, I go for stand alone instruments, next step is to interface them to the FS. This way, I am getting something to show before too long!
At the moment, I am trying to understand the PICs, as they seem like a good choice for making a stand alone device. However, how to combine a multitude of instruments is an open question, FSBUS do seem the best way for me. But I am only a beginner.lnola

Hello and welcome. You will find that you can do a lot for very little money. Also go in steps will help with the layout of cash as well. You will also find that as your build goes on, you will get better with power tools. Take your time and sounds like you are off to a good start. Please share pictures of what you have done in the gallery too. We always like to see what others are doing. Most of all enjoy this hobby!!!
