747 TQ
Hi All:
I finally received, in the mail, a tracing of the throttle quadrant from a 747-400. My dad is a -100/-200 driver and managed to get into one of the company's -400 and made me a tracing. I took the tracing and dimensioned it.
If someone wants these dimensions, email or pm me. I would like to hand them over to someone who can make a good set of plans and templates for building one and to share with the rest of us. On the template I drew up and cut out, is a section that could fit into a pedestal if there is a "shelf" for the TQ to sit on.
Just not sure how to upload it to the files section. I would love to see someone make plans and templates for someone to build, something similar to the 737 TQ plans and templates.

Mondo and everyone else who PMd me. I was busy these last few days and will get the file uploaded asap, before Thursday. I don't have a big enough scanner for the tracing and template I made, so I made a drawing of it. Be patient with me, sorry about bring busy.
Bondo, are you near vero beach, I just moved to the area.

Re: 747 TQ
Hi, I am interested in having a look at your drawing. I can convert it to CAD and VCarve for CNC machining and I'll upload the files to the download section when finished.

Re: 747 TQ
I hope that everyone found this useful. Keep me updated on what's to be done with them, just curious. If anyone makes plans to build one, please consider sending me them so I can make one.

Re: 747 TQ
Hi
Here is a photo of my 747TQ.
http://www.flightgear.org/Projects/7...k/onemore.html
Each throttle consists of a couple of sections glued together along with internal cutouts for interlocks and reversing mechanisms. These were hand crafted. a good CNC mill could do wonders, especially with the internal structure. Not visible is some gearing and cams to set a rotary pot for position and reversing as well as a chain and gear drive to an RC motor modified for continuous CW and CCW rotation. Each throttle is self contained with reversing interlocks, motors, and pot and is mounted to a base plate. The fit is tight but it can be done.

Re: 747 TQ
Nice build. Would it possible for you to make a tracing of the lever shapes with some dimensions?
