Looking for betatesters phidgets 737-800 system simulation software
Hello cockpit builders,
For the last year I have been working on an external systems simulator that simulates practically all systems aboard the 737-800. It's an external application that runs next to FS9/FSX and interfaces with flightsim wherever possible. The software has been in use for about half a year for training purposes. Although many real life pilots have trained with it, I am still looking for people that can perhaps provide feedback on the system. If you would like to help me out, please leave me a message. This is not commercial software, and is not intended to be. It was developed for private use and I think other people may find it usefull.
Prerequisites:
- FSX/FS9 with a default 737 (no more than default FS logic, but works together with any addon that works through FSUIPC).
- Phidgets library needs to be installed on the computer.
- Dotnet 3.5 runtime installed.
- I highly recommend controlling the system with real switches, because the the user interface is not very good (There is a user interface to control any switches that are not physically connected). The system currently ONLY supports phidgets hardware (phidgets interface card/LED64/TextLCD/Servo controller)
What is simulated:
- Flow model of Electrics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Fuel, Heating
- Fluid dynamics cabin pressure system with real outflow valve control
- Dual IRS with two levels of drift logic (speed and position drift)
- Warning system with Master/Caution, cancel and recall logic (including single channel master/caution logic)
- Integrated web server that hosts a failure activation system to control a large amount of possible failures.
What you get:
- A ZIP file with all the stuff. There is no installer. Since this was developed for private use, I never bothered to make this into a full package with manual. Some effort might be needed to set it up, but the product is stable and once it runs, it will continue to do so.
- A chance to operate possibly the most complete and advanced 737-800 simulation.
Anyone willing to help me out, please leave a message!
Marty

Marty,
is it stick to the Phidgets? We have the cockpit, but most of the I/O is done via FDS SYS-cards.

Re: Looking for betatesters phidgets 737-800 system simulation software
Currently, it is locked to phidgets. One problem I am facing is the fact that the dotnet executable is strongly connected to the phidgets libraries. It won't start unless you have this installed. Once I get that sorted out, implementing different hardware should be trivial. It is on my wish list, but as of now, it only talks to phidgets hardware.
