Throttle servo
Hi all,
I would like to motorize the levers of the TQ I am about to make.
Now my question is: What servo to use? It has to be strong enough to move the throttle levers in the directions.... Anyone an idea?
I make my levers from MDF wood and some iron for the reverse thrust levers.
Thanks,
Steef

Re: Throttle servo
Steef,
I just finished motorizing a throttle quadrant I made out of mdf and basswood. I used an arduino uno card and a cheap servo, both of which I found at Radio Shack, and which only cost me about $50 overall. It connects through a regular USB connection (one class B cable is needed), and interfaces to FSX through a program called DVA2FSX and fsuipc.
As long as your levers travel without much resistance, the one servo should be more than enough to move them.
If you want to see some pictures, just send me an email at gnwwiisteve@gmail.com.
Hope this helps!
Steve
