SimKit USB Altimeter
I just recently ordered and received a prebuilt and tested SIMKIT USB Altimeter. I have not been able to get it installed even after many instruction emails from Support at SIMKIT. I downloaded and installed proper software but my Vista/FSX does not recognize the altimeter. Because of language and distance (Netherland) I now have a $600 instrument that fails to work as advertised. Before sending it back (a real shipping headache) I hope to find someone else who may have had this problem and solved it. SIMKIT claims you have to be an expert PC and software geek in order to properly install this instrument (I am not?). The instrument came without any instructions or information nor an installation/software disk. Does anyone have any siggestions other than throwing it out the window? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply AndyT.
Yes Windows/FSX do recognize the presense of the Altimeter but thats where it ends. The altimeter doesn't respond. The dial light doesn't even come on?
