    Need PCI Video Card Recommendations

I need a good recommendation for a simple PCI video card to run my engine stack gauges. It must be an ATI based card.

My current system is a Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz machine using a Sapphire X1950 GT ATI card to run the outside display and the MIP.

The second card will only run the engine gauges on a 12.1" monitor that is on the way via FedEx. I don't know how much memory the card should have to run only this monitor.

It needs to have enough Umph to run the monitor without draining my power supply which is only 250 watts. (The Sapphire has its own power supply.)

I've been all over NewEgg, but I can't decide which would be the best for this purpose. Any suggestions or experience with a PCI only card would be appreciated.

Of the ATI PCI cards that they have available at Newegg, I would get this one:

POWERCOLOR 24PRO256M PCI Radeon HD 2400PRO 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI HDCP Ready Video Card
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131082

It's the most recent chipset of what's in their PCI inventory and you can't beat the price (there's a rebate right now). It would more than suffice for what you want to do with it.

    Regards,
    Henry

    Thanks Henry!

I was considering this very same card this morning. You may have sealed the deal.

One question though, will a DX10 card run OK on DX9??? I don't know much about those things.

Yeah, it'll be fine. You're actually future-proof for a while with this card since not too many PCI cards are capable of DX10.
